Collection Spring/Summer 2008 'The Carrousel of Dreams'

While walking through the morning mist
She can still feel drops of moist
touching her gentle skin
Her heart is light and feels no pain
And neither does she realise
that moist turned into rain
Silence falls before her eyes…
While standing there, no time no space
She catches the first sunbeam
gently peaking through the clouds
Before her lies the greenest grass she’s ever seen
As in a dream of poetry she softly lies down in the field
To be united in an endless stream of raindrops touching
the greenest grass she’s ever seen…
A rainbow pops up above a sky so blue
And turns her little colourful bed into
a carrousel of magic dreams
Where creatures of all kinds and sizes
Dream along in a magical stream

The Mada van Gaans spring/summer 2008 collection is inspired by the idyllic world of the ‘Cheval Noir’ and its intriguing women, as drawn by the Japanese illustrator Aya Kato. Kato’s work is strongly refined and full of inspiring details, yet also shows a whimsical and ‘Art Nouveau’ touch. Mada van Gaans’s collection combines youthfulness with a highly feminine Touch and a divine mix between luxury and comfort. The crochet decorations with their humorist reference to mid- fifteenth century hairstyles are a co-operation between Mada van Gaans and Dezibelle. The knitwear necklaces are designed by Julie Coste.
